CredSSP Error while starting Remote desktop




While attempting to make an RDP connection to another Windows client the following error may be encountered

How to resolve this error?

You need to edit system registry to resolve this issue. -> Admin Access required

  1. Select the Start  button > Type registry editor and select Run as administrator




  1. Navigate to Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> System
  2. Inside systems create new key and name it as CredSSP
  3. Inside CredSSP create new key and name it as Parameters
  4. Inside Parameters Create new DWORD and name it as AllowEncryptionOracle 
  5. DoubleClick on the Key “Allow Encryption” Change the value to “2” and click ok 
  6. Test the RDP connection again
